Growth, Yield and Pest Infestation Assessment of Solanum Lycopersicum Under Pest Exclusion Net (Pen) Technique in Bangladesh

چکیده
Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) is one of the most popular vegetable crops in Bangladesh. The production this crop open field constrained by major pests like fruit borer, yellow striped armyworm and caterpillar. A pest exclusion net (PEN) experiment was carried out to assess performance seven varieties tomato through growth, yield occurrence. two-factor randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three conditions viz. under without pesticide, no pesticide replications. Data were analyzed MSTAT-Cv. 2.1 software package means separated Duncan’s multiple range test (DMRT) at 1% level significance. result revealed that PEN had maximum plant height (98.47±1.02 cm), inflorescence number per (20.34±0.06), flowers (69.34±2.02), (43.12±0.03), individual weight (49.70±0.02 g), gross (50.76±1.06 tons/ha) whereas or condition produced minimum above traits. However, parameters showed decreasing trend except incidence. This study shows use protect against pests, increases growth which can be considered as a viable technology for marginal farmers J Bio-Sci. 30(1): 21-32, 2022 (June)

Cocoa agroforests can significantly support biodiversity, yet intensification of farming practices is degrading agroforestry habitats and compromising ecosystem services such as biological pest control. Effective conservation strategies depend on the type of relationship between agricultural matrix, biodiversity and ecosystem services, but to date the shape of this relationship is unknown. We l...
متن کاملRoot-synthesized cytokinins improve shoot growth and fruit yield in salinized tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) plants
Salinity limits crop productivity, in part by decreasing shoot concentrations of the growth-promoting and senescence-delaying hormones cytokinins. Since constitutive cytokinin overproduction may have pleiotropic effects on plant development, two approaches assessed whether specific root-localized transgenic IPT (a key enzyme for cytokinin biosynthesis) gene expression could substantially improv...
